Toolkits to Address Antisemitism and Anti-Palestinian Racism in Schools

Antisemitism is a real problem in the Commonwealth, and one that deserves serious attention. In a time when discrimination and bigotry are being platformed and emboldened nationally, schools must ensure a safe learning environment for all our students. Massachusetts’ Antisemitism Commission’s K-12 recommendations—which are supposed to help keep Jewish students safe—risk having the unintended consequences of harming Jewish students, advancing anti-Palestinian racism and compromising students’ right to an education free of censorship. Schools must meaningfully address antisemitism alongside its sibling hatreds: racism, Islamophobia, white nationalism, anti-LGBTQ bias and xenophobia—that includes protecting the rights, safety, and identity of all students and educators, including Jewish and Palestinian.

Together for an Inclusive Massachusetts offers these advocacy resources to help parents, students, and educators understand the harmful implications of these recommendations and to provide alternative solutions to address hate and bias in schools while protecting students’ educational rights.
